    Matthew Consorte knocked down a twenty five foot jumper as time expired to vault the top seeded Vio’s Sports Bulls to a thrilling 41-38 win over the second seeded Gunning Law Spurs to win the West Haven Youth Basketball tournament on Saturday. The win capped an unbeaten season for Bulls.

    The first quarter saw Tyron Williams Joyner score five points to give the Bulls a 5-4 lead. Ben Carroll netted all four points for the Spurs. The Spurs rallied in the second quarter behind 8 points from Amare Davis and a three pointer from Kishun Patel to take a two point lead at halftime. Dylan Desanty knocked down a three pointer and Isiah Wyatt added 2 for the Bulls.

    The Bulls used defensive pressure to open a ten point lead after three quarters. Matt Consorte hit for 7 points and Tyron Williams Joyner and Jordan Berrios combined for 6 points for the Bulls in the third quarter.

    The Spurs rallied in the fourth quarter behind 11 points from Ben Carroll and 7 points from Shea Sheffield. The game was tied with a minute left and the Bulls held for the last shot setting up the Consorte heroics. The shot from the left hash mark with pressure on him went through as the buzzer sounded. The game winner set off a wild celebration and sealed the unbeaten season and tournament title.

    Members of the Bulls were Josh Allan, CJ Arpino, Jordan Berrios, Tyler Borer, Javoun Calhoun, Brandon Coggins, Matthew Consorte, Michael Consorte, Dylan Desanty, Tyron Williams- Joyner, Isiah Wyatt and Tyler Desanty.

    Members of the Spurs were Ben Carroll, Ben Chima, Amare Davis, Nick Doherty, Nikolas Hemmings, Maurice Highsmith, Pearson Hill, Derrick Midy, Kishun Patel, Jordan Paulin, Mason Perry, Shea Sheffield, and Wade Sheffield.

    The Bulls reached the championship with a 50-33 win over the fourth seeded Falcone Law Hawks. Jordan Berrios, Tyler Borer and Isiah Wyatt combined for 22 points for the Bulls. Amadou Kamara hit for 17 points and Joel Walton Robinson added 9 for the Hawks.

    The Spurs knocked out the sixth seeded Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks by a score of 48-31. Derrick Midy, Ben Chima and Nick Doherty powered the offense for the Spurs. The Bucks were led by 17 points from CJ Coppola and scoring from Latrell Massenberg and Jamaine Calloway.

    West Haven Youth Basketball kicked off its season ending tournament with games at Pagels School on Saturday morning.

    Thee sixth seeded Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks picked up the days only upset as they downed the third seeded Savin Rock Roasting Pistons 35-26. Jason Sawicki hit for 12 points in the second half to lead the Bucks to the win. CJ Coppola, Amir Cayo and Latrell Massenberg combined for 18 points for the Bucks. Marlin Walker scored 12 points and Jake Lentine added 7 for the Pistons.

    The top seeded and undefeated Vio’s Sports Bulls rolled to a 42-21 win over the eighth seeded Bender Supply Clippers. The Bulls used a balanced attack led by the scoring of Tyron Williams Joyner, Jordon Berrios, Matthew Consorte and Isiah Wyatt. The Bulls has 10 different players score in the win. The Clippers were led by a three pointer from Joe Hawkins and 10 combined points from Dylan Supan and Alexander Potter.

    The second seeded Gunning Law Spurs outlasted the seventh seeded Elm City Landscaping Celtics as Ben Carroll hit for 18 points in their 41-36 win. Nick Doherty, Pierson Hill and Shea Sheffield combined for 14 points for the Spurs. The Celtics rallied from 10 down to cut it to a 2 point game in the third quarter behind the scoring of Jared Thayer, Shaq Samuels and Josue Perez.

    Amadou Kamara scored 15 points in leading the fourth seeded Falcone Law Hawks to a 34-29 win over the fifth seeded Oyster River Petroleum Knicks. Joel Walton Robinson added 12 points, with three 3 pointers, and Roderick Smith also knocked down a three pointer to pace the Hawks. Tyler Green and Jake Lutters combined for 25 points for the Knicks.

    The tournament semifinals were held on Wednesday with the finals taking place on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pagels.

    The Vios Sports Bulls capped an undefeated regular season to claim the top seed in the season ending tournament with a 42-23 win over the the Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks. Michael and Matthew Consorte combined for 19 points in the second half to break open a close game at the half. Isiah Wyatt, Tyler Borer and Craig Arpino combined for 12 points the Bulls. Latrell Massenberg exploded for 15 points and Russell Epps added 4 points for the Bucks.

    The Gunning Law Spurs locked up the second seed with a 40-17 win over the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks. Ben Carroll hit for 14 points and Nick Doherty, Pierson Hill and Shea Sheffield combined for 18 points for the Spurs. The Knicks were led by the scoring of Tyler Green, Jake Lutters and Dillon Lenihan.

    Alex Serrano netted 14 points and Marlin Walker added 6 points as the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons downed the Bender Supply Clippers 26-20. The Clippers were led by 13 points from Robert Oliverio and scoring from Austin Bryd and Joe Hawkins.

    Amadou Kamara exploded for 19 points to lead the Falcone Law Hawks to a 36-30 win over the Elm City Landscaping Celtics. Joel Walton Robinson added 9 points and Justin Rhodes added 2 for the Hawks. Jared Thayer, Joseph Santos and Josue Perez starred for the Celtics.

    West Haven Youth Basketball resumed play with a full slate of games at Pagels School on Saturday morning.

    In a hard fought contest, the Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks upended the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks 42-38. CJ Coppola scored 11, Russell Epps, James Galloway and Jason Sawicki combined for 22 points for the Bucks. The Knicks staged a late rally behind the scoring of Ethan Hadeka, Devon Coleman and Dillon Lenihan.

    The Vios Sports Bulls remained the leagues only undefeated team as they held off the Bender Supply Clippers 36-30. Matthew Consorte, Michael Consorte, and Javoun Calhoun all knocked down three pointers for the Bulls. Tyler Desanty, Craig Arpino and Michael Consorte combined for 18 Bull points. The Clippers were led on the offensive end by 14 points from Robert Oliverio, and a combined 11 from Javion Young and Trevor Basta.

    The Gunning Law Spurs blitzed the Falcone Law Hawks with a 19 point first quarter in route to a 38-17 win. Shea Sheffield, Ben Carroll, and Ben Chima led the scoring for the Spurs. Wade Sheffield and Nick Hemmings also starred for the Spurs. Amadou Kamara and Joel Walton combined for 11 points and Nate Osborne and Jonathan Finnegan starred offensively for the Hawks.

    The final game of the weekend saw Bryon Barrington explode for 11 second quarter points to pace the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons to a convincing 37-21 win over the Elm City Landscaping Celtics. Marlin Walker, Alex Serrano and Seth Noble combined for 20 Piston points. Jared Thayer hit for 9 points, and Daniel Izzo and Brandon Thayerr chipped in with 5 for the Celtics.

    West Haven Youth Basketball saw teams positioning for playoff seeds with three weeks left with a full slate of games at Pagels School.

    In a hard fought contest, Ben Carroll and Shea Sheffield combined for 25 points as the Gunning Law Firm Spurs outlasted the Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks 42-33. Wade Sheffield, Amare Davis, Nick Hemmings, Mason Perry and Jordan Paulin led the second quarter attack for the Spurs. CJ Coppola, Latrell Massenburg and Frank Ogonovszkly powered the Bucks attack.

    The Vios Sports Bulls remained the leagues only undefeated team and they clinched the top seed in the tournament as they kept rolling with a 41-26 win over the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons. The Bulls continued to have success shooting and had three pointers from Michael Consorte, Isiah Wyatt, Dylan Desanty, Isiah Wyatt and Tyron Williams Joyner. The Pistons were led on offensive end by Seth Noble, Bryan Barrington Jake Lentine and Marlin Walker.

    The Oyster River Petroleum Knicks rallied from eight down with a fifteen point fourth quarter to upend the Elm City Landscaping Celtics 27-22. Tyler Green, Austin Hedeka, Dillon Lenihan and Devon Coleman led the scoring for the Knicks. Matthew Smokes and Daniel Izzo combined for 10 points and Joseph Santos knocked down a three pointer for the Celtics.

    The Falcone Law Hawks also used a second half rally behind the combined 25 points from Amadou Kamara and Joel Walton Robinson to upend the Bender Supply Clippers. Roderick Smith and Nate Osborne had key hoops for the Hawks. Robert Oliverio hit for 15 points and Trevor Basten, Joshua Doudy and Alex Potter combined for 11 points for the Clippers

    West Haven Youth Basketball rolled into its holiday break with a full slate of games at Pagels School.

    The best game of the weekend saw Marlin Walker and Ed Kruah combined for 9 fourth quarter points to power the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons to a 29-28 win over the Falcone Law Hawks. Walker hit 2 free throws in the final minute for the win. Seth Noble and John Barrington starred offensively for the Pistons. Amadou Kamara erupted for 15 points for the Hawks and Justin Rhodes and Joel Walton Robinson combined for 8 for the Hawks.

    The Vios Sports Bulls remained the leagues only undefeated team as they kept rolling with a 42-27 win over the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks. The Bulls has three pointers from Michael Consorte, Isiah Wyatt, Dylan Desanty and Tyron Williams Joyner. William Joyner and Mathew Consorte combine for 16 Bulls points. The Knicks were led by the scoring of Devon Coleman, Kyle Tompkins and Nazir Harp.

    The Gunning Law Firm Spurs used 17 points from Andre Davis, Nick Hemmings and Pearson Hill in a 42-23 win over the Bender Supply Clippers. Ben Carroll had 9 points for the Spurs. The Hawks were led by the combined 11 points from Robert Oliverio, Juan Dancy and Joe Hawkins.

    The Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks upended the Elm City Construction Celtics 51-37 as CJ Coppola was unstoppable in netting 27 points in the win. Jamaine Galloway added 11 points and William Triplett knocked down a three pointer for the Bucks. The Bucks used the combined 20 points from Jared Thayer, Josue Perez, Daniel Izzo and Brandon Thayer.

    West Haven Youth Basketball resumed play with a full slate of games at Pagels School.

    In a matchup of the first and second place teams, the Vio’s Sports Bulls remained unbeaten with 42-29 win over the Gunning Law Spurs. Tyron Williams Joyner hit for 14 points, Matt Consorte and Michael Consorte combined for 16 in the Bulls win. Isiah Wyatt and Brandon Coggins also starred for the Bulls. Ben Carroll, Andre Davis and Nick Hemmings led the offensive attack for the Spurs.

    Tyler Green knocked down a key three pointer and had 7 points in the fourth quarter as the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks outlasted the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons. The Knicks also got scoring from Jake Lutters, Anthony Regan and Ethan Hedeka. The Pistons received three pointers from Marlin Walker, Gianni Gambardella and Alex Serrano.

    Amadou Kamara exploded for 10 points in the fourth quarter to power the Falcone Law Hawks over the Hi Fashion Cleaners Bucks 46-36. Max Warren and Joel Walton Robinson combined for 22 points for the Hawks. Amir Cayo, CJ Coppola and William Triplett combined for 24 points for the Bucks.

    Matthew Smokes hit for 13 points, Joe Desisto and Dan Izzo added 6 apiece as the Elm City Landscaping Celtics nipped the Bender Supply Clippers 37-36. Robert Oliverio exploded for 18 points and Aaron Rosario and Dylan Supped combined for 10 points for the Clippers.

    West Haven Youth Basketball rolled into its holiday break with a full slate of games at Pagels School.

    The Vios Sports Bulls remained the leagues only undefeated team as they improved to 4-0 with a 42-21 win over the Bender Supply Clippers. Tyron Williams Joyner, Matt Consorte and Michael Consorte combined for 12 first quarter points to lead the Bulls. Tyler Borer, Dylan Desanty and Tyler Desanty kept the scoring going in the second quarter for the Bulls. The Clippers were led by 8 points from Robert Oliverio and 4 points from Aaron Rosario.

    Shaquille Samuels scored 10 points and Matthew Smokes and Josue Perez accounted for a combined 16 as the Elm City Landscaping Celtics outlasted the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons 40-26. Dwight Francis, John Barrington, Ed Kruah and Gianni Gambardella combined for 14 Piston points as they rallied in the fourth quarter.

    The Gunning Law Firm Spurs used 18 points from Shea Sheffield and Ben Carroll as they improved to 3-1 with a 32-23 win over the Falcone Law Hawks. Pierson Hill, Andre Davis and Ben Chima also starred for the Spurs. The Hawks were led by the combined 11 points from Ari Kinder and Amadou Kamara. Joel Walton Robinson and Roderick Smith also knocked down three pointers for the Hawks.

    The Oyster River Petroleum Knicks used a balanced scoring attack led by James Guthrie, Nazir Harp, Devon Coleman and Tyler Green to upend the Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks 42-24. The Bucks used the combined 20 points from Amir Cayo, CJ Coppola and Jason Sawicki.

    West Haven Youth Basketball continued play with a full slate of games prior to the holiday at Pagels School.

    The Vios Sports Bulls handed the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons their first loss of the season as Brandon Coggins, Tyler Desanty and Dylan Desanty starred in the second quarter lead the Bulls to a 41-26 win. Jordan Barrios and Matt Consorte combined for 15 second half points for the Bulls. Marlin Walker, Seth Noble and Alex Serrano combined for 15 Pitson points.

    Nick Doherty, Wade Sheffield and Nick Hemmings powered a 22 point second quarter to lead the Gunning Law Firm Spurs to a 41-24 win over the Hi-Fashion Cleaners Bucks . Shea Shefield and Derrick Midy knocked down three pointers for the Spurs. The Bucks were led by the scoring of Latrell Massenburg, Jason Sawicki and Michael Hernandez.

    Shaquille Samuels, Kyle Philbrick, and Daniel Izzo scored key fourth quarter points to lead the Elm City Construction Celtics to 36-31 win over the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks. The Knicks were led by the play of Jake Lutters, Tyler Green and James Guthrie.

    West Haven Youth Basketball had its second week with a full slate of games at Pagels School.

    Marlin Walker hit a game winner buzzer beater to power the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons over the Hi Fashion Cleaners Bucks 37-35. Walker finished with 12 points on the day and Dwight Francis and Gianni Gambardella combined for 10 in the win for the Pistons. Jason Sawicki, CJ Coppola and Jamaine Galloway combined for 20 points for the Bucks.

    Jake Lutters and Dillon Linehan each scored in overtime to lead the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks to a 32-28 overtime win over the Bender Showcases Clippers. Tyler Green scored 14 and Deron Coleman added 6 for the Knicks. The Clipper attack was led by 24 points from Robert Oliverio and scoring from Frankie Perez and Juan Dancy.

    Ben Carroll hit for 15 points and Shea Sheffield knocked down 9 to lead the Gunning Law Spurs to a 42-31 win over the Hi-Fashion Cleaners Celtics. Nick Hemmings, Wade Sheffield, Jordan Paulin and Mason Perry opened the game up in the second quarter for the Spurs with scoring and defense. Javon Perez, Matt Smokes and Kyle Philbrick all knocked down three pointers for the Celtics.

    Tyron Williams Joyner and Brandon Coggins combined for 20 points to pace the Vio’s Sports Bulls to a 44-33 win over the Falcone Law Hawks. Isiah Wyatt and Dylan Desanty also combined for 8 points for the Bulls. The Hawks were led on the offensive end by Ari Kinder, Justin Rhodes and Nathaniel Osborne.

    West Haven Youth Basketball opened another season with a full slate of games at Pagels School.

    The opener saw the Savin Rock Roasting Pistons rally late in the fourth quarter to upend the Gunning Law Firm Spurs 38-34. Jake Lentine hit a key three pointer to ice the win for the Pistons. Marlin Walker scored 17 of his game high 20 points in the second half and Alex Serrano and James Weber provided the offense for the Pistons. Ben Carroll and Shea Sheffield combined for 22 points for the Spurs. Derrick Midy and Nick Hemmings also led the Spurs attack.

    Amir Cayo, CJ Coppola, Russell Epps and Jason Sawicki erupted for a combined 16 first quarter points to pace the Hi- Fashion Cleaners Bucks to a 42-29 win over the Bender Showcase Clippers. Alejandro Baez and Latrell Massenberg also starred for the Bucks. Robert Oliverio netted 11 points and Alex Potter and Joe Hawkins added 7 for the Clippers.

    In a rematch of last year’s championship, the Vios Sports Bulls upended the defending champion Elm City Landscaping Celtics by a score of 36-22. Matt Consorte and Michael Consorte combined for 10 first quarter points to set the pace for the Bulls. Tyler Desanty and Javaun Calhoun each chipped in 4 points for the Bulls. Jared Thayer and Josue Perez each knocked down three pointers and Matthew Smokes chipped in with 6 points for the Celtics.

    The final game of the week saw Amadou Kamara hit for 11 points and Roderick Smith and Joel Walton combined for 16 points to lead the Falcone Law Hawks to a 30-20 win over the Oyster River Petroleum Knicks. Robert Rosa, Jake Lutters and Devon Coleman starred offensively for the Knicks.
